Conducting a workplace mediation is a fine art, blending the dispute resolution model with high level listening skills and the ability to manage a range of personalities and behaviours. In this workshop, you look in detail how to run a workplace mediation from the time of referral from the employer to the final agreement.
- The underlying factors involved in workplace mediations: including organisational structure, human psychology and common themes in mediations
- How to run a workplace mediation: including how to manage the expectations of the referring organisation and how to prepare the parties for a mediation
- Demonstrations of skills: a demonstration of a hypothetical mediation by Elizabeth Rosa including questioning in the intake session
- Practice of skills: in groups, the participants practice intake sessions and consider the agenda and preparation for a hypothetical mediation

About the presenter
Elizabeth Rosa is a Nationally Accredited Mediator practising in workplace conflict and the principal of Resolve-At-Work. She has conducted numerous mediations and facilitations for a variety of organisations including major Australian corporates, hospitals, universities, schools, government departments and councils. She also conducts team facilitations and workshops. Elizabeth has a background as a lawyer, practising in insurance litigation.
