CEO update | October 2019 | Time to say farewell

Before I say farewell, I am participating in a series of events where I share my thoughts on the exciting developments of the past 15 years both within the dispute resolution profession and most particularly within what is now Resolution Institute. I also explore the role played by the cross-Tasman and Australian organisational mergers, our robust governance, our operational effectiveness and our willingness to innovate in helping Resolution Institute to grow in stature and its members to be held in high regard.

I will be in Sydney on Thursday 7 November 2019 chatting to Graeme Robinson from 5.30 to 7.30pm. On 14 November 2019 I will in New Zealand chatting with Mark Beech, who is a former chair of LEADR/Resolution Institute. This event will take place from 5 to 7pm at Kensington Swan and kindly hosted by our Vice Chair, Hayden Wilson. Then I will travel to Hobart where I get to chat with Debbie Dunne at the Headroom Café. My final farewell as CEO will take place in Melbourne on Thursday 21 November where I get the opportunity to chat with Toby Schnookal QC at the Market Lane Bar at the Intercontinental Hotel. If you would like to join me for a drink after each of the events, I would love to see you and say farewell. You can register for these events on our website:

We are in the throes of the online election of Board members and the ballot closes on Tuesday 19 November at 5pm, so please check your emails. The email will come from GoVote so if you haven’t received it please check your spam/junk folder or phone Deb or Phil in our Sydney office on 02 9251 3366. This system will make it easier for you to have your say on who the Board members will be, from the comfort of your home or office.

By now you will also have received a newsletter in the mail, a new initiative that I believe has been warmly received. If you didn’t receive one, please let the office know. We may not have your correct postal details so why not check to make sure your directory details are up to date:

As I wrap-up my role as CEO, I send my best wishes for your future as part of the Resolution Institute community of dispute resolution practitioners and as active contributors to the peaceful resolution of disputes.

Fiona Hollier
Chief Executive Officer, Resolution Institute
