This is the second webinar in a series of four monthly webinars aimed at equipping public servants with practical tools for effective dispute resolution.
Conflict resolution and relationship building in the public service involves effective interest-based negotiation strategies. By conducting an interest-based negotiation process, public servants can build trust while generating outcomes that create value and have a greater chance of acceptance by stakeholders.
In this webinar, we will discuss strategies for transforming your dispute resolution process to an interest- based negotiation. This will include examples of how to make that first phone call to a complainant or changing a dispute from an adversarial process to a collaborative conversation.

About the speaker
Shiv is an Assistant Information Commissioner with the Queensland Information Commissioner and Panel Mediator, Coach and Assessor with the South Queensland Dispute Resolution Branch.
Shiv works with the University of Newcastle and the University of Queensland in training and facilitation. She has held senior positions in Queensland and Australian government justice agencies such as the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, Queensland Office of the Information Commissioner, and Queensland Department of Justice and Attorney General.
Shiv conducts mediations and delivers training in negotiation and dispute resolution through her practice, Integrative Conversations and as the Australian training lead for the High Conflict Institute.
