CPD event | Restorative Justice Practice Group NZ

Starts 26 July | Online

Facilitated by a team of Aotearoa New Zealand Restorative Justice facilitators this practice group will meet initially 3 times in July, August and September 2022, offering a 1.5 hour facilitated discussion to join with colleagues and share thoughts, questions and insights of Restorative Justice practice.

The practice group will enable Restorative Justice facilitators to enhance their professional practice through:

  • Connecting and supporting facilitators from across Aotearoa New Zealand
  • Identifying and sharing examples of good practice to build nationwide improvement
  • Identifying and discussing ongoing themes in the mahi that provide challenges to good practice (such as risk planning, the role and contribution of support people and so on)
  • Exploring innovations in practice, including – for example – post-accreditation training, bringing the voice of the child into family harm restorative justice conferences, post-sentence restorative justice, and so on.

We welcome any feedback on this purpose statement too as we seek to go on a journey together in this endeavour.

The convenors for the 2022 Restorative Justice Practice Group are Mary Slater, Paul HingMather, Waana Joyce, Madeleine Taylor and Jo Tiszavari. To make contact with the convenors you can email: mary.ann.slater@outlook.co.nz or paulhingmather7@gmail.com.
