Spotlight on practice

16–17 October 2019, Wellington NZ

Conference format

We heard that you want ‘the spotlight to remain on practice’. We do too...

When we asked for feedback about Spotlight on Practice 2018, here's what we heard:

  • Participants greatly valued the learning opportunities at the conference
  • People also valued the range of formal and informal opportunities to meet and catch up with colleagues
  • Everyone wanted to keep the longer workshop format
  • Accessibility and affordability is more important than changing destinations

Participants valued:

“The interactive / workshop focus – opportunity to think about how to apply what I’d learnt to my own practice”.

“The extended sessions, which gave opportunity for in-depth learning and discussions”.

“The sessions being so interactive. It really helped me meet people.

“Well presented sessions that were either generic to DR or had sufficient generic material to relate to my area of practice. Stimulating to consider DR issues from other perspectives.

"Liked small group dinners - much easier to meet and talk than at large conference tables; choice of $, food.”

“Building relationships, reflective thinking, learning, being inspired by like minded humble people.”

As part of the Spotlight on practice - 2019 programme...

You will have the opportunity to attend six 1.5 hour workshops over the two days, along with a full group plenary session, Spotlight Table workshops, special interest lunchtime discussions and a range of networking opportunities.

This conference will bring together mediators and restorative justice facilitators, colleagues from New Zealand and Australia. We're working with a fantastic group of workshop presenters/trainers to ensure that you leave with learning you can use!

“That was the best conference I’ve ever been to, for presentations, for people, venue, food, and structure. I greatly appreciate the RI community”.
