In 1982 Grant joined J S Tait & Co (as it then was) in Warrnambool where he was a partner for 22 years and then worked as a consultant for Taits Legal until January 2020.
During that time Grant acted in numerous disputes and court proceedings in many jurisdictions.
Grant was an LIV accredited specialist in family law and also in commercial litigation for 25+ years of that time..
Grant became an associate member of the Institute of Arbitrators in 1993 and undertook training in arbitration and then mediation. Currently, Grant is a member of Resolution Institute and also a member of The Family Law Arbitrators & Mediators.
Since 1993, Grant has become more involved in alternative dispute resolution, not only in acting for the parties, but also as mediator.
Grant has been on the LIV Mediators Directory for many years and in April 2009 became accredited nationally with NMAS
His mediation practice has been in general litigation including family and defacto law, wills and testator’s family maintenance, commercial disputes and employment, small business, leasing and mortgage disputes.
His preference has been for work in Warrnambool and western Victoria. However since the covid lock down starting June 2021, Grant has conducted a large number of mediations via zoom involving parties throughout Victoria and other States.
