About my services

Apart from my private firm and corporate legal experience, as a Reservist Legal Officer (Captain) in the Australian Army Legal Corps (AALC) I work across the broad fields of disciplinary, administrative, operations, civil and commercial law as well as dealing with legal aid requirements. I primarily assist, together with my permanent Chief Legal Officer, with legal advice, services and support to the Command and management of the Brigade on all aspects of law and the management of legal affairs and provide legal advice to members of the ADF directly. I am also engaged as a lecturer in the Law Faculty of several universities in subjects including Commercial & Estate Practice, Advocacy and Property.

Other ADR Experience

I have been employed in a legal capacity for over 10 years. As a legal adviser, I have been an active party and observer in many mediations over a wide variety of subject areas, including commercial, construction, Family Provision Act (FPA) and family law-related disputes. I am often responsible for and participate in various formal and informal ADR processes on behalf of my current employer such as contract/commercial disputes, industrial negotiations and disciplinary/grievance meetings.

It is well known within the construction, readymix concrete, transport, quarrying, civil engineering and waste disposal industries. My role involves providing a wide range of legal advice and support to both the Divisional Managers and Board members including commercial and construction-related contracts with government and non-government entities, property, environment, workplace injuries and safety, compliance and risk management, industrial and employment relations, corporate governance (including assisting with the company secretariat function for the Group), litigation, aviation and corporate projects.
