Friday, 17 July 2026 and Monday, 20 July 2026  | 9:30am - 12:30pm AEST (both days) | Online Workshop | 6 CPD Points

In an increasingly complex world where cultural misunderstandings can escalate into serious conflict, dispute resolution professionals need more than general cultural awareness—they need specialized intercultural facilitation skills.

The Art of Intercultural Negotiation in Mediation and Workplace Practice - addresses a crucial gap in professional practice. Drawing on evidence-based research and over a decade of experience across seven countries, this workshop equips practitioners with practical toolkits to navigate the cultural complexities inherent in today's commercial, administrative, and workplace disputes.

What Makes This Different:

This isn't another cultural competence program. While Resolution Institute's existing offerings like Navigate Cross-Cultural Conflict with Confidence provide valuable broad frameworks, this workshop focuses specifically on the mediation and dispute resolution context—where cultural differences directly influence negotiation dynamics, power balances, and outcomes. You'll learn to recognize and address "other-culture blindness"—a phenomenon extending beyond ethnicity to encompass the full spectrum of diversity attributes. The reality? Almost all professional interactions today involve interculturality in some form, making these skills essential for effective practice.

What You'll Gain:

  • Foundational knowledge of intercultural dispute dynamics
  • Practical applications of the evidence-based my-RESPECT-ability framework
  • Envision your specialised toolkit tailored for intercultural dispute resolution contexts
  • Skills to navigate cultural differences with respect, fairness, and productivity
  • Understanding of how to become more informed, involved, and inclusive across cultural paradigms

Who Should Attend:

All dispute resolution professionals seeking to enhance their effectiveness in our culturally diverse environment—mediators, arbitrators, facilitators, workplace investigators, and organizational conflict specialists.

Looking Ahead:

This introductory workshop lays the foundation for advanced intercultural dispute resolution training, creating pathways to mastery in this essential emerging skill set.

Given Australia's growing cultural diversity and the complexities it brings to dispute resolution, this workshop meets a timely and critical need to enhance both professional capability and community safety.
