NZ update | December 2020
From the desk of the New Zealand Office
At last! Christmas is almost here!
I am sure we are all looking forward to a break and spending time with family and friends.
It has been a challenging year and I am excited about this year ending. I don’t for a moment think that as of 1 January all will be fixed. I do, however, believe we are winning the fight and will continue to do so. I also feel extremely fortunate to be living in a beautiful country that has made sacrifices to get COVID-19 under control so that we can go about life in a reasonably normal manner.
What I have seen is how adaptable our members are and how willing they have been to embrace massive process changes to be able to continue providing life-changing services to people in conflict.
Of particular note are our trainers, coaches and volunteers. Without their support we would not have been able to provide outstanding training and accreditation in 2020.
It has been an absolute honour and pleasure to stand beside our members during the last 12 months and I look forward to continuing to do so in 2021.
I am very fortunate to lead a wonderful team in New Zealand and more recently in Australia as well.
The newly created membership team of David and Ian with support from Kim in New Zealand are doing an excellent job and have made some big changes to provide better services to all members.
In the New Zealand office, I am blessed to work with the most wonderful, passionate and committed team members. We would not have achieved as much as we did without their hard work.
A big thank you to Laura, Kim, Michelle and Gerry for your ongoing support. You do make my role a lot easier and you are all a pleasure to work with.
I hope one and all have a wonderful Christmas, New Year and a good break.
Bring on 2021.
Stay safe and Meri Kirihimete
