CEO update | March 2020 | Covid-19 update

As an organisation Resolution Institute is constantly monitoring the evolving situation in relation to the impact of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Our approach is to manage the situation in a balanced way that takes into account all government advice and requirements. When required we will make decisions quickly and keep you updated accordingly.

We understand and appreciate the effect this situation is having on many of our members due to responses to specific profession and industry impacts and direct association impacts, especially in relation to training, meetings and events.

Ongoing safety focus

Resolution Institute is currently enacting our business continuity plan and we have put in place the systems and processes to enable our staff to work remotely as appropriate. During this time, we will ensure that we minimise disruption to our services and our staff remain accessible via email and phone at all times.

We have provided the following guidelines to our people:

  • if any staff member, or their immediate family or household members, have travelled internationally they must immediately self-isolate themselves as per the government requirement. They may return to work if at the end of 14 days self-isolation they are showing no symptoms
  • staff members have been asked to not attend the office if they are unwell or showing any cold, flu or respiratory related symptoms
  • if any staff member has had contact with a person with suspected COVID-19, they must immediately isolate themselves and not attend the office for 14 days. They may return to work if at the end of 14 days self-isolation they are showing no symptoms, or earlier if the suspected case has been confirmed as having tested negative for COVID-19
  • staff members will practice social distancing. This includes not shaking hands with members, training providers or each other.

Training and events

As an organisation, drawing directly on current advice and information provided by both Australian and New Zealand government authorities, we are aiming to run all planned events and training (with heightened safety measures in place).  However, some of these may be cancelled or postponed on a case by case basis due to local requirements or availability of trainers.  We will keep you up to date on all changes. This decision will be continually monitored, and we will of course commit to implementing all recommended precautions from the World Health Organisation, health authorities and will encourage all attendees to follow these guidelines.  These will be communicated to all attendees prior to and during any event.

Thank you very much for your understanding in these unusual circumstances.  We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will continue to provide updates to you as appropriate.

Resolution Institute is here to support you, our members, so if we can assist you in any way please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,

Amber Williams
