CEO update | January 2021 | Welcome to a new year

I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year and managed to celebrate and rest as much as possible in this ever-changing world. I for one, spent the time with my family and friends and enjoyed the festive season.

COVID-19 once again threw a spanner in the works just before Christmas, but with no new cases in NSW we are hoping to man the office five days a week. However if there are times when the office isn’t manned physically, we are always available to take your calls, whether this be via zoom or over the phone.

It’s great to see so many members engaging with our online forum, Member Connect, I for one am thoroughly enjoying the conversations. Please keep this going by posting and commenting and connecting with your peers. We are expanding on this offering and working on a mentor/mentee platform so keep an eye out for this and any questions can be sent to David Chin, Membership Manager.

I am pleased to say, that a few days before Christmas, we employed Sean Brogan as our new Public Affairs Manager. Sean comes to us with a career spanning from Channel 7 to icare and will assist us with advocacy and developing partnerships. He will be a great asset to the team so please feel free to introduce yourself at any time.

Unfortunately, our conference has been postponed due to the Sofitel being contracted by the government as a quarantine hotel. We will now be hosting the event on 15-16 July 2021 at the Fullerton Hotel in Sydney. More information on this will follow shortly.

One of our great member benefits, Professional Development Subscription, is now available and we are pleased to announce that it is at the same low price as last year – $175. This gives you unlimited access to all live webinars, recorded/on demand webinars, professional development events, NZ networking and practice group events and all virtual practice groups. It is our way of saying thank you for your continued support. Please check the link out in Pulse.

I will be back in the office on Monday 1 February and look forward to catching up with you early in the year.

Take care,

Amber
