CEO update | December 2020 | Reflecting on the year that was and looking forward to the next
The last few weeks have been very busy in the lead-up to Christmas with events, wrapping up of training courses, and finalising some big projects for Resolution Institute.
I will keep the last update of 2020 short and focused — firstly, I wanted to take the time to thank you, our members, for your commitment to Resolution Institute over 2020. It has been a turbulent year for all, and I am of the firm belief that we will grow stronger as a result. However, I’m the first to admit it hasn’t been easy and I’m sure everyone would choose to forget this past year if they could! So, as we wind down for the break, I hope you all take some time to rejuvenate, reconnect with family and friends, and enjoy the festive season. I will be spending the break with family and will reflect on the year, celebrating achievements as well as considering what we have all learned in 2020.
There are some great events to look forward to in 2021, including the Resolution Institute Conference to be held on 18–19 March — ‘Resilience and Reinvention: Dispute Resolution During a Crisis and Beyond’. We have a fabulous lineup of speakers planned for the conference. More information on these speakers will be shared shortly, with registrations opening up in the new year. We feel grateful that, with borders having opened up across Australian states (and promising talks taking place between Australia and New Zealand about creating a travel bubble), we will be able to hold the conference in person.
To wrap up, I want to wish everyone a safe and happy festive season. I look forward to all 2021 holds for Resolution Institute, our staff and members, and to working with you again in the new year.
