Spotlight on practice

A conference that sets dispute resolution practice ‘at the centre’. A little bit different, this conference offers a range of longer interactive workshop sessions focused on dispute resolution practice, as well as opportunities to engage in professional conversations and exchange insights with colleagues.

Leave with learning you can use.

At this conference we offer participants longer workshop style 1.5 hour sessions. You will have the opportunity to attend 6 of these over the 2 days.

We will run a workshop selection process online prior to make sure you can attend the workshops of your choice.

Spotlight Table Workshops

Here’s a chance to put the focus on a topic of your choice. We are seeking around 15 facilitators to lead some Spotlight Table Workshops at the conference. These will be ‘short and focused’ sessions ‘putting the spotlight’ on a particular question or area of practice or learning you are interested in.

You can either lead a facilitated discussion on a specific area of practice or question

Or

You might like to give a 15 minute presentation (including some QnA) to a small group about a piece of learning, practice or research you have been involved in recently.

How the tables will run

During our 9.30 – 10.30am slot on Thursday 18th October we will run four Spotlight Table Workshop slots allowing 15 minutes for each, which includes 10 minutes discussion time and 5 minutes of change-over and introduction time for each.

We will run the 10 - 15 tables concurrently, so you will likely have the opportunity to run your session with 4 different groups. Each table will hold up to a cap of 10 people.

9.30 – 9.45am Round 1
9.45 – 10.00am Round 2
10.00 – 10.15am Round 3
10.15 – 10.30am Round 4

Part of our intention for these sessions is they are also a way for conference delegates to make some initial connections with others. So as part of your facilitation we would ask you to create a quick opportunity for your group members to introduce themselves whilst talking about the topic.

Does this sound like something you would be keen to offer?

If so, we would love to hear from you. Please contact laura.collins@resolution.institute and let us know your name and what you would like to offer.

Please give us a title that encapsulates your focus. This is the name we will give your Spotlight Table Workshop and will enable participants to choose which table they head to.

In order to enable us to be ready, if you are keen to offer something, can you please contact us by Friday 28th September.

Other networking opportunities

Over the two days of the conference, along with this ‘in-depth’ learning, there will also be other formal and informal networking and discussion opportunities with colleagues.

  • optional lunchtime special interest discussion sessions
  • end of day drinks and networking on Thursday
  • hosted dinner opportunities on Thursday night – head out to a choice of funky Cuba Street restaurants with a group of DR practitioners and a fabulous host

The conference will offer 12 CPD hours.
