Managing power imbalance in the commercial mediation context

This is the first in a series of webinars to explore managing power imbalance.

In this webinar Paul Sills (leading commercial mediator in NZ) will offer consideration of the following questions in relation to managing power imbalance in the commercial mediation context:

  • Power imbalances exist – so just get over it?
  • What is it really all about – self-determination at risk.
  • Process versus substantive imbalances.
  • The mediator’s role – how far should the mediator go?
  • Communication skills – listening and questioning.
  • Hypotheticals and role-play.
  • The exploration of needs.
  • How to deal with the devil.
  • Terminating the mediation.

Register yourself and gain valuable CPD points.
