On demand | Webinar | Cutting through the Knot: understanding ‘micro-inequities’ and ‘micro-affirmations’
with Jennifer Mahony
On demand | Online
This webinar is useful for all dispute resolvers and anyone facilitating group sessions, engaging in restorative practice, or seeking more tools for understanding cognitive biases.
Micro-inequities are the manifestation of affinity bias. Recognising them and their impact may feel like untangling a ‘Gordian Knot’. There are, however, simple ways to recognise them, and counter-act them with micro-affirmations. This webinar recording focuses on:
- Recognising micro-inequities, including activities that you can do on your own or with clients to recognise your own;
- Discussing the effects of micro-inequities through a case study;
- Learning about the relationship between the ‘bystander effect’ and micro-inequities; and
- Finding ways to counter-act micro-inequities with micro-affirmations.
This session is useful for all dispute resolvers and anyone facilitating group sessions, engaging in restorative practice, or seeking more tools for understanding cognitive biases.
