Mediation assessment | Sydney | 3 May 2021

Monday 3 May 2021 | Sydney

Complete the Resolution Institute video assessment to apply for mediation accreditation under the National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS).

How is the assessment conducted?

We offer three session times for each video assessment date (9.30am, 12pm, 2.30pm). Please indicate your preferred time in the registration form. However, slots will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

One week prior to your assessment date, you will receive an email confirming the time, venue and role play scenario. There are two parts of your assessment:

  1. Role play: During the role play you will play the role of a mediator and volunteers play the role of the two parties in the simulated dispute. The mediation session must be 1.5-2 hours long and is video recorded.
  2. Self-assessment: Within 24 hours of your role-play, you must respond to the questions in the self-assessment form, reflecting on what you think you did well and what you could have done better. We will send you the self-assessment form one week prior to your assessment date.

An independent assessor will consider the video recording of your role play and your self-assessment to determine whether you have 'demonstrated competency’ or have ‘not yet demonstrated competency’. Depending on assessor availability, we will email you the results within 4-6 weeks.
