About the presenters
Nicholas Pane QC
Nick has a commercial practice which focuses on building and construction disputes. He has particular experience in oil, gas, desalination plants, road and rail infrastructure, the construction of pipelines, and in prosecuting and defending delay and disruption claims. Over the past 20 years Nick has appeared in a number of stop clock arbitrations. He has also provided advice in relation to a number of major projects. He is experienced in alternative dispute resolution including appearing before dispute resolution boards. Nick has also acted in compulsory acquisition matters, acting for both acquiring authorities and dispossessed landowners.
Bronwyn, a Partner at Corrs, Chambers, Westgarth has over 20 years’ experience in advising clients in relation to the conduct of major international commercial disputes. Significant cases include disputes arising in relation to joint ventures, shareholder agreements, agency and distribution agreements, real property, building and construction contracts, service and technology agreements and mining/natural resources. Arbitration experience includes UNCITRAL, SIAC, HKIAC and ICC Rules. Bronwyn is a panel arbitrator with SIAC, a Fellow of ACICA, a panel arbitrator for KLRCA and listed on the database of arbitrators for the London Court of International Arbitration. Bronwyn also has extensive experience in commercial litigation, including transnational litigation, and in mediation and other forms of ADR. She provides strategic advice to clients in relation to foreign regulatory and criminal investigations and has advised on extradition risks in relation to complex fraud and bribery allegations.
Matt, a Partner with HFW, advises on the development, construction and operation of resource projects. He has worked on large-scale infrastructure projects and project finance transactions in industries including power, mining, rail and oil and gas across Asia, Australia and the Middle East. Matthew has particular experience with offshore construction and other offshore oil and gas operations. He has advised clients in relation to dispute resolution and has worked with clients on international arbitrations under various rules including ICC, SIAC, UNCITRAL and ad-hoc arbitrations.
