A nationally accredited mediator, Jon Womersley holds appointments as a Mediator and Case Appraiser for the Land Court of Queensland, and as a Mediator for the South Queensland Dispute Resolution Service of the Department of Justice. He has experience in matters to do with resource development, family, neighbour, property, workplace and community dispute resolution. Jon has qualifications in natural resource management, agriculture and teaching.
Through the design of process, intake and practice Jon can assist clients to find solutions to their disputes. He can guide clients in the design and conduct of public consultation programmes, particularly for contentious environmental and natural resource management issues.
Jon brings to assignments an understanding of the context in which landowners, miners and gas producers, businesses and governments undertake resource development, environmental and natural resource management activities. He is a former senior environmental regulator with experience in environmental planning, environmental management, cultural heritage management, conservation and natural resource management.
Experience and qualifications
Jon Womersley is a Professional Member of the Resolution Institute who currently practices on a sessional basis with the Queensland Department of Justice, Dispute Resolution Branch; and is a member of the Land Court of Queensland ADR and Case Appraisal Panels.
