About my services
I am an Accredited Mediator (NMAS) with over 25 years of litigation experience. I have acted for injured plaintiffs in medical negligence claims, and have participated in well over 200 mediations as a solicitor representing plaintiffs.
Throughout my career as a solicitor, I have observed the benefits of mediation to litigants. Not only does mediation provide an alternative to the expense and stress associated with going to Court, it is also a tried and trusted method of resolving disputes for parties experiencing conflict.
I became a mediator because I believe in the process of mediation and recognise its importance to resolving conflict. I have learnt that even with the most complex of matters no matter how intractable a position may seem, there exists always the potential for resolution through mediation. Through my representation of injured plaintiffs, I have gained a valuable insight into the psychological benefits of achieving a resolution, and as a mediator am able to provide empathetic and fair consideration of the issues that matter.
The services that I offer as a mediator include:
- Mediation of litigated matters
- Mediation and conciliation of disputes
- Facilitation of joint meetings of experts (conclaves)

Experience and qualifications
I was admitted to practice as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in 1997. Following my admission, I worked with a sole practitioner of a small legal practice acting for clients in criminal law matters, workplace disputes, and personal injury litigation.
From 2000 I commenced acting for injured plaintiffs, some catastrophically, in medical negligence claims against insurers.
In 2014 I commenced HCM Lawyers, a law practice which specialises in medical negligence claims. I remain a Principal of that practice today.
From 2016 to 2018 I was part of the legal team which brought class action proceedings in the Supreme Court of Victoria against the Commonwealth, on behalf of approximately 150 installers, distributors and manufacturers of insulation who suffered losses when the government's Home Insulation Program was terminated.
I became a Nationally Accredited Mediator in 2019
