Diane McArthurInspiring Positive Change
I am passionate about human behaviour and work-related psycho-social issues, one of which is unacceptable behaviour. I'm also passionate about equity for all and have worked and studied in this field for many years. While we see a positive change in psycho-social workplace behaviour, there is still a long way to go.
After a sixteen-year career in Information Technology, I worked for News Limited for three years, followed by eleven years as an Officer in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). On being medically discharged from the Navy in 2013, I joined the Fairness and Resolution Branch of Defence.
Working in Defence required an understanding of, and adherence to, Defence Policy, and State and Federal Legislation. In my role as Manager, Equity & Diversity: Fleet Headquarters, I worked closely with the office of Human Rights Commission, NSW Ombudsman, NSW Anti-Discrimination Board, and the office of Workplace Fairness. I became extremely familiar with specific Acts, including anti-discrimination Acts, the Privacy Act and the Australian Human Rights Act.

I have a vast array of experience as an allied health professional managing complex physical and psychological injury/illness. I also have qualifications as an auditor of injury management and occupational health and safety systems. I have qualifications also in human resources. These varied academic and occupational interests enable me to provide a holistic approach to intervention.
I provide mediation and facilitated discussion between relevant parties aimed at reaching an agreement that each part is satisfied with.
I have had experience in varied work locations i.e. office based to building labouring environments to seafarers. This experience allowed to have greater awareness of people support needs and how best to adopt strategy fro intervention to better meet these needs.
I help separated parents & couples to reach agreements that are in their children's best interests and property agreements that they can live with.
I want to help you stay out of the Family Court if you don't have to be there. I want to help you to reach a meaningful resolution - I don't want you going to the Family Court and spending an exceptional amount of time and an immense amount of money when I can help you find a solution yourselves.
I help you to focus on issues one-at-a-time. I also help you to better understand why you are in conflict and present you tools on how to better deal with issues and differences of opinion moving forward.
