Management

Amber WilliamsChief Executive Officer

Amber works with the board in setting and delivering the strategic direction of Resolution Institute to ensure the future success of the organisation, and to work in the interests of members to grow services and expand the profile of Resolution Institute and dispute resolution within the community.

A strategic leader with a diverse background in both the private and public sectors, Amber was the CEO of the New South Wales Law Enforcement Conduct Commission and Chief Human Resources Officer for the New South Wales Department of Justice prior to her appointment as CEO of Resolution Institute in November 2019.

In addition to her qualifications in human resource management, industrial relations and psychology, Amber is a certified member of the Australian Human Resources Institute and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Amber’s interests outside work include spending time with her family, playing and watching soccer.

Robert Grima, Chief Financial Officer

CPA, BBus (Accounting), GDHSM

Rob is responsible for all aspects of financial management, including monthly financial reporting, budget preparation in consultation with managers and end-of-year statutory accounts. He oversees nominations, work health and safety compliance, HR compliance and regulatory reporting compliance.

Rob has over 30 years’ of experience in executive and financial management.

David Chin, Head of Membership and Marketing

BBus (Finance), GradCert (Adult education)

With 20+ years partnering with Global Fortune 500 organisations and Associations, David drives Resolution Institute's impact and influence for its membership. His expertise in engagement, marketing, and growth fuels strategic initiatives for vibrant engagement, retention, and expansion. This includes dynamic marketing like digital strategies, SEO, and lead generation to amplify Resolution Institute's brand.

Seema Parekh, Head of Learning and Accreditations, Australia

BA Hons. (Education and Psychology)

Seema provides strategic leadership to Resolution Institute’s training and accreditation objectives. Her team is responsible for organising corporate training and continuing professional development opportunities for members and the dispute resolution community. Her experience in the education space assists her in managing end-to-end projects, from innovative design to the implementation of courses.

Simon Roughton, Operations Manager, Aotearoa New Zealand

JP, M.Ed (Leadership), Dip Tchg, FRI, NMAS Accredited Mediator

Simon’s primary role is to build positive relationships with members, stakeholders, government agencies and further establish Resolution Institute’s reputation in Aotearoa New Zealand. He is also responsible for membership and operations in Aotearoa New Zealand, including infrastructure, policies and procedures (including governance and risk management).

Simon has had an extensive career in dispute resolution including mediation, conciliation, facilitation and training.

 

Australia

Richa Bahuguna, Training and Events Coordinator

GradDip Journalism and Mass Media

Richa assists with administering and promoting training and professional learning events (including conferences). She also assists in delivering a diverse continuing professional development (CPD) programme and works with the marketing team to support member groups in promoting training and CPD events.

Richa’s background is in journalism and mass media.

Rukmini Sengupta Roy, Content Producer

BA Hons (English), MBA (Marketing)

Rukmini is part of the marketing team, producing strategic content for the internal and external communications strategy. She is responsible for the implementation of various marketing and communications initiatives, as well as publications such as the member newsletter Pulse, weekly mailers, brochures, flyers and thought leadership content. She also manages the social media profile of the organisation.

She has worked in corporate and marketing communications roles in the IT, media and events industries.

Stjohn Black, Training and Assessment Coordinator

Stjohn assists with administering, promoting, and organisation of corporate training events and continuing professional development opportunities for members and the dispute resolution community. His focus is to provide high level end-to-end support for member groups as well as the implementation of a diverse training and assessment program. St John’s background is in customer service, administration and business information systems.

Nicola Friis, Membership Officer

BBus (Tourism)

Nicola’s main area of focus is membership services, she is responsible for assisting members and non-members with their enquiries. Nicola loves engaging with members to support them experiencing the full value and benefit of membership products and services.

Nicola is people-focused and has extensive experience in relationship management and business operations. Her background is in the telecommunications and personal development industries.

Helen Goddard, Nomination Services Officer

Helen administers Building and Construction Security of Payment adjudication applications, nominations and referrals in Western Australia and the Northern Territory. She works with members and provides a timely and responsive service.

Helen has extensive experience in the not-for-profit and community services sector, gaining policy administration experience in a varied range of roles.

Nicholas Gonella, Training and Accreditations Officer

Nicholas manages the accreditation process for the National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS), arbitration, expert determination and conflict management coaching, among others. He also assists with the setup and logistical organisation of training and development courses and workshops.

His background is in business services.

Emily Guo, Training and Assessment Coordinator

BBus (Accounting and Finance)

Emily coordinates and promotes training and assessments across Australia. She is responsible for mediation, conflict coaching, conciliation, expert determination courses and assessments (online and face to face).

Emily has a background in business studies and has extensive experience in adult education, tertiary education and vocational education sectors.

Laetitia Lake, Executive Assistant and Project Officer

Laetitia provides executive administrative support to the CEO and the board. Her duties range from managing diary appointments, preparing correspondence, coordinating travel arrangements and scheduling and supporting meetings to facilitate the effective management of Resolution Institute.

She also provides internal project management support. Laetitia has extensive experience in project management and office administration.

Philip Millen, IT and Systems Officer

Phil is part of the operations team and responsible for providing and maintaining the IT needs of Resolution Institute. He manages the IT and systems projects needed to support the strategic goals of the business.

Phil has extensive experience in database administration and possesses strong skills in data organisation, analysis and reporting.

Aotearoa New Zealand

Gerry Westhuis, Finance Administrator

Gerry is responsible for the financial administration in Aotearoa New Zealand, including reporting to the COO and the Board. She also liaises with members regarding payments and receipts and is responsible for staff salaries and supplier payments.

She has worked as an accountant for over 20 years.

Sarah Calcutt, Professional Development and Training Manager

MSSL, PGCE, Bsc Sports Science/English

Sarah is responsible for organising events and webinars and ensuring there are professional development opportunities for members and the dispute resolution community. Past experience includes working as a Senior Manager Pastoral Care and Restorative Lead in the education sector. Sarah has recently completed a Masters of Secondary School Leadership at Victoria University.
